We configured a custom background-tracking geolocation plugin that dynamically throttles GPS frequency based on driver speed and motion states. At highway speeds, we track every 30s; in stop-and-go, every 10s; stationary detection pauses tracking entirely. Battery drain dropped 40%.
Started with the dispatcher dashboard (the control center), then built the driver app, then connected them via real-time WebSocket sync. Route optimization was the last piece, integrated using Google Maps Directions API with multi-stop optimization.
