Executive Summary
Workout India needed a complete two-sided marketplace: a consumer app for gym discovery and flexible memberships, and a web-based management panel for gym operators. The platform had to work reliably across Indias variable network conditions while handling high-concurrency QR check-ins.
Scaling high-concurrency QR code access check-ins at gym counters required minimizing network latency. The app had to generate secure, time-sensitive tokens that could be verified at gym desks in less than 500 milliseconds, even with unstable internet connections.
We developed a lightweight WebSocket checking client and implemented a caching layer on the gym-facing web panel. Tokens are generated using time-based OTP (TOTP) algorithms, allowing secure, fast offline decryption at the gym desk for rapid validation.
A phased rollout strategy: first shipped the consumer discovery and payment flows, then the gym operator panel, and finally the QR system after extensive load testing in Bengaluru and Mumbai pilot gyms.
